Cousins is better/would easily win in 1-on-1 but I'd rather build my team around Drummond especially if he can continue improving as a rim protector. Also, he's only 22

Agree with Stray above. Drummond is also more level headed than Cousins which makes negotiations and playing with him a lot easier

^ I think that aspect of Cousins is overrated; he just wants to win and gets upset that the Kings organization is at such a low point right now and who wouldn't. But I do think playing with Drummond is probably a lot easier

You guys are acting like Cousins isn't a stud on defense...he's not at Drummond's level but he's still very good on that end.

Cousins. For a center, he's got great handles and passing skills. He can also run the floor and create more/better shots

Definitely Cousins, this shouldn't even be a discussion. Cousins has the best handles at his Postion, probably even better than some SF's. Cousins has great passing skills for Center/PF. He is a elite scorer and Rebouder. He is an understated defender, he is quite good. Last year he averaged about 2 blocks and 2-3 steals a game.

We know Cousins is better, but I'd rather build my team around Drummond

I love how that this would have never been a discussion before this season. Drummond starts off good at the beginning of the season, only because the Pistons need help in the pain despitely. But Cousins has been dominate since the 1 year he entered the NBA. Cousins flat out destroyed Drummond, when we played the Pistons early this year. Oh, don't forget be can SHOOT 3'S!

Stop playing so much 2k, last year he averaged 1.7 blocks (his career high) and 1.5 steals (his career high). And fyi Cousins has been shooting threes a lot this year but in previous years he's averaged like 0.1/0.2 3-pt attempts per game and he's a career 23% shooter from there.

And I'm not saying he's not a good defender and in general I said I know Demarcus is better, but I said I'd rather build around Drummond because of the type of defender/type of player he is. He's so, so easy to build around and again he's only 22, so yeah it took him longer than Cousins to develop a post game because he didn't come into the league with it but going forward what they used to be able to do/not do means nothing. He's always had a dominant size/athleticism combo but has now made serious improvements to his conditioning, his offense (including but not limited to that go-to jump hook with either hand) and his defensive positioning/help defense and rim protection, and still has a whole lot more room left to his ceiling in both those latter two areas.

And to say he only started off good because we need help in the paint desperately, lol, no. Correction: Stan Van Gundy built this team specifically around Drummond with a 1-in 4-out strategy the way he ran his Magic teams with Dwight Howard

Cousins is a proven top 3 center of this new generation.

Drummond had 7 good games.

Go figure.
