The Red Sox have cash, some trade chips and they need pitching.
That makes Boston and San Francisco likely trade partners, even if a deal hasn't been discussed.
Tim Lincecum is owed $22 million in the final year of his contract and Jacoby Ellsbury would be a nice option in the outfield for the Giants, who would not have to pay the hitter as much even as he approaches arbitration.
