San Diego Union-Tribune - The Chargers have a difficult decision to make regarding LaDainian Tomlinson, especially with Darren Sproles entering free agency as a hot commodity.

Tomlinson had the fewest touches and fewest yards of his career in 2008 and is no longer the center of San Diego's offense.

"I don't know," Tomlinson said of his situation. "That's something I have no control over. I'm under contract. It's not like I'm going anywhere. Nobody said nothing to me."

Tomlinson, who will be 30 at the start of next season, has a salary-cap number of $8.8 million in 2009. They could trade him, or simply release him in what many believe would be a more respectful move.

"That's the great thing about being an athlete and playing this game," he said. "Everybody is going to have to answer to injuries at some point in time in their career. Then you have to ask yourself, 'Are you still the same player if you stay healthy?' I think for me that's the question I'm asking myself going into the offseason.

"I just got to make sure, whether with the Chargers or somebody else, that I'm ready to play football next year."

Reminds me of another MVP running back...
Shaun Alexander...

I'd trade him for at least for a 3-4 round pick.

They said that wouldn't be respectful, thats why they may release him.

Ladainain and Addai as a 2 headed monster.
With Peyton and our WRs.
I could see that.

nothing has even happened yet. I doubt that minor injuries throughout the season are going to make the Chargers trade LT.

teams are seeing the positive turnout of 2-headed monster backfields. LT and a scatback would be better for the Chargers

that's what I'm thinking. If they want to compete for a Super Bowl run next year, having dual backs is key. Giants had success with 3, Panthers had 2, Titans had 2, Cowboys will most likely use 2 next year, etc.

Ahmad Bradshaw hardly gets any carries, it's more of a 2-headed monster for the G-men.

Anywho - there's NO way LT is cut after 1 bad season (coming off injuries, playing hurt..). Even with 1 bad season, they still made the playoffs and did a solid job in there... You don't cut the man who will soon be considered the no-brainer best HB of all time.

Bradshaw gets carries from time to time but when Jacobs was out a few times late in the season Bradshaw had decent time running.
I mean, if your top 2 backs are performing great, why would you toss a third into the mix and screw things up.
