In another deal today, former Clipper Corey Maggette reached agreement to join the Golden State Warriors in a five-year deal worth about $50 million, according to NBA sources who requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak about player movements. Maggette also opted out of the last year of his Clippers contract last week.

It's from the same article as the Elton Brand one, just caught it.

CMaggs to the Warriors? Eh.. Neutral feeling on this one.

Yeah they are looking the same imo.

Ellis is going to step up his game now that Baron Davis is gone and Maggette can replace Davis's scoring.

You guys are crazy. You think that Corey Maggette is a player capable of replacing Baron Davis, one of the best players in the NBA? That's messed up thinking right there.

Plus, you can't expect a role player like Monta Ellis to immediately step up and fill Davis's role either.

I think so. His natural position is PG. Monta has the skills to be one of the top PG in the game.

It can't replace him, but he can replace his scoring. Davis is a better player overall, but Magette can fill in on the scoring.

Monta had 20 ppg 5 rpg and 4 apg last season and he'll be 23 a month into the season and is improving every year.

Ellis will be as good as Davis or better eventually and he could breakout this year so I dont think they are any worse...

This is a crazy move by Maggette.

He has both the Celtics and Spurs after him, and he made it look like he wasnt as concerned about the money as much as he was concerned about winning.... yet he goes to Golden St?

And as for Ellis playing PG, I know I havent seen him play as much as some of you on the Westcoast, but from the games I have watched, he's MUCH better off playing off a real PG. Not necessarily a two guard, but just a combo guard.

Idk I maybe wrong, but it seems like he's much more dangerous in that position.

Monta a role player? You obviously do not know the Warriors at all. He was like our best player last year.

Maggette should thrive in this system. 22 ppg last year, 11th in NBA.

Jackson at SF
Maggette at SG
Ellis at SG

Harrington off the bench again most likely.

Baron isnt one of the best players. He tanks at the end of the season, even when he had one of the best conditioning coaches...

Got what he deserved IMO.
