Browns coach Eric Mangini confirmed that Colt McCoy has a high ankle sprain according to Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

"It's different than the ones [Delhomme and Wallace] had, but it's in that same category, yeah," Mangini said.

Delhomme and Wallace's injuries took about four to six weeks to heal. Mangini said he's optimistic McCoy won't be out that long, but the history of the team's high-ankle ailments "tempers" his optimism.

A six-week injury would keep McCoy out until the last game against Pittsburgh.

Sucks for Colt.. Hopefully it isn't that serious, and he can get back in there and keep rolling with the Browns.

He'll most likely be out for the year. Delhomme and Wallace both had the same injury and they were out for a good 4-6 weeks.

It's actually kind of weird, haha.. But yes -- I hope he get backs on track whenever he returns to the field.

I'm just glad we don't have to have a debate in Cleveland about drafting a QB for the first year in a while. Now it's more about getting talent around him.

Not my boy McCoy too! I was happy he was having success, especially when people doubted him, and now he's fallen to the apparent required ankle injury of the Browns QB's. Haha. I wouldn't expect him to be back this year, and just focus on recovering and being 100% for next year.

I said when he was coming out, he would never be a premier QB in the NFL. Never.

However, he has the smarts and leadership which will allow him to pull out wins for a team.

I expected Clausen to be that good :(
I said that Clausen would be a lot better than he was, as well. I feel like an idiot for that, but his technique is the thing that is truly being exposed in the NFL. He has a really slow delivery, and a hitchy kind of release, and the speed of the teams are just wrecking him.

I expected him to be an alright QB but I didn't expect him to make such a good first impression. But I guess Holmgren knew what he was doing when he went out of his way to draft him. Best football mind we have had in management in a long time, and it's already paying off. Joe Haden-TJ Ward-Colt McCoy are already making immediate impacts. Hardesty should be good as well if he can get healthy.
