Has any reputable source confirmed this yet?

Not a done deal but the Yankees will pull this off and w/o giving up Torres, Andujar, Florival, or Sheffield. Amazing job Cashman has done this offseason.

Joel Sherman believes the package to Pittsburgh will be Clint Frazier, Chance Adams, and Tyler Wade.

I should have put a question mark in the title.  There is a whole lot of buzz about this and the deal reportedly centers around Clint Frazier.  The Pirates are allegedly asking for a top ranked pitching prospect in return as well.
The Yankees really don't have to make this deal, and neither do the Pirates.  It appears to be sitting for the moment, but we'll see once Spring Training starts. and someone gets injured as they often do.

Fixed the title.

I agree, Yankees don't need to make this deal. I think their rotation is good, actually.

Yanks know pitching depth is what will put them over. Tanaka started the season with an elbow injury, they lost Pineda, and CC is no Spring chicken. It’s smart to plus up now. Will be more expensive to add starters in July.

I just don't think it's that necessary. Severino, gray, Tanaka, CC is a solid 1-4. I liked what I saw from Montgomery, too.

They could use an upgrade but I have friends who are Yankee fans and they act like they have a horrendous rotation.

Depth is one thing, trading for a big name is something else.

The Yanks just gave him another $10M but CC is not serviceable as a starter for an entire season.

Is Gerrit Cole even that good?

Still the Pirates best pitcher but he hasn't been lights out in recent seasons. I saw MLB Network post something like he throws more than 70% fastball....whereas the Yankees pitchers last year relied on fastballs around 40%.  The belief is he'd fit well into the Yankees pitching philosophy, in addition to the run support he'd get.

Cole would a nice add but I don't see him as a difference maker in October

Who the hell brought up Porcello!
I'm only mentioning it because the Yankees are starting to solidify a more rounded rotation than the Red Sox.

We might have the edge if Price is comes back strong and with Sale, but Yankees have better secondary pitchers.

Gerrit Cole was bit hard by the long ball last year. His K-rates were still solid and he was able to give the Pirates 200 good innings. There's a lot of value in that. If he can find the control that helped him take that big step forward in 2015, then he could be a great addition. As a RHP, Yankee Stadium isn't the best fit as much as LHB love to hit there. It was tough for any pitcher to keep the ball in the park last year in Yankee Stadium. I'm sure having Judge play 81 games there is a big reason for that. Still, a guy who struggles with the long ball going to a park that gave up the 2nd most last year. Could be a bad recipe.

I don't blame the Pirates for asking for more. A team is not willing to just hand over a great player to the Yanks??? *shocker*

This one is on hold for a while. I bet the Yankees end up adding a little more to the deal. Seems like a good trade fit.
