It sure did. I would have preferred to hire Laviolette rather than Maurice, but either is an upgrade lol. Not expecting any improvement this season though.

May have taken a while, but it's not like the mess this team is in is entirely Noel's fault.

Holy shit. They absolutely DOMINATED Phoenix tonight. That's the best I have EVER seen this team play.

Good for them, but I think winning is the last thing this team needs. Something needs to give in order for management to see the glaring holes in the roster.

Honestly though man, once Kane is back, and moving Buff back to forward, most of the holes are gone from the top 9.

1a - Ladd Little Frolik
1b - Kane Sheifele Wheeler
3 - Setoguchi Jokinen Buff

That's a legit top 9 right there, and the average age of the top 6 being 24.5. Once Kane and Schiefele are fully developed, look out. The real problem is a shitty 4th line, but our actual 4th line center has been hurt all year. But there really isn't any holes top 9. And then with the way Nic Petan is looking, he should get a spot in there in a year or two, and plus Burmistrov may come back that Noel is gone.

And then of course our defense sucks. But again not really a personnel issue. All system. Plus Buff moving to forward will help IMMENSELY.

Enstrom Trouba
Clitsome Bogosian
Stuart Ellerby

Not great but solid. Especially with our first rounder Morrissey likely to come up next year to (hopefully) replace Stuart and send Clitsome to 3rd pairing, that lineup is set.

There real ? is goaltending. Pavelec has shown when the team plays defense around him he can make the saves. But under Noel the team just did not play defense for Pavs. They played totally different with Montoya. So if Maurice can get the guys to play for Pavs, I'm fine with keeping him.

Overall, no we don't have any all stars. But Scheifele and Trouba are well on their way, and our 3 best players are under 22.

Hopefully with a system and coach the teams buys into, they will be good. Don't forget former Jet Eric Fehr called Noel the worst coach he's had at any level. The problem IMO, and lots of Winnipegers opinions, was Noel's system (Penguins players thought they didn't even have a system lol), and goaltending (related to systematic play).

This team is incredibly young. They just aren't ready yet. In 2 years I'm willing to bet they are in the playoffs. It's more a developmental thing they need to go through than a lack of talent. It's there. Just not on the surface.

The jets have a great young team ... I don't watch all of their games but from what I heard they need more from E.Kane ... and once evander kane starts playing like he should this team would be even better cause E.Kane has the talent to be a top forward in this league !

Also, people following the jets how good is J.Trouba ?

Yeah Kane is vastly overrated IMO. He's got a great shot and is one of the fastest players in the league, but he doesn't have much "hockey sense", and I don't think that's something that can be developed.

As for Trouba- he's 19 and he's already a #1 D-Man. He's going to be a top 5 D-Man in the league in a couple years. Guy's an absolute stud. He's already out best player.

Welp. He's 4-0 so far, including knocking off the Ducks at home! This team looks entirely different, and it's not even close.
Here's to 4 more!
