The Clippers and the New Orleans Hornets were working vigorously Sunday night to consummate a blockbuster deal that would send All-Star point guard Chris Paul to Los Angeles to play for the Lakers' cross-town rivals, said two people with knowledge of the situation who were not authorized to speak on the matter.

The deal hasn't been completed, but both sides were in the closing stages of the negotiations.

The Clippers would send the Hornets center Chris Kaman, backup second-year guard Eric Bledsoe, second-year forward Al-Farouq Aminu and the No. 1 draft pick they got from the Minnesota Timberwolves that is unprotected in the 2012 draft, considered to be one of the best in recent years.

The Clippers might not even match DeAndre's offer sheet, and no, he's not a problem for Bynum.

And stop it, Blake is not better then Pau because he's an athletic freak. Just stop. Pau is more skilled and just better. Blake will be better, but not now.

Caron and Artest are both old and mediocre, thats a wash.

I don't think Paul-Gordon-Griffin is a better Big 3 than Kobe-Pau-Bynum, but throw in Butler-Jordan vs. Fisher-Metta & you got a close race

I thought the Butler signing was terrible, and it will look as bad as Ron's deal. He's basically going to be a spot up shooter, and you could get a better one, at a cheaper price then 3 years/24 mill.

i've been watching the clippers for the same amount of time as i've watched the lakers
but im not a "fan" fan of them

i dont hate them though. i love their players. some of my favs. blake, deandre and gordon. throw in CP, hard for me to hate, sorry

my theory was the Clips would finish 5th or 6th and upset whoever was there

i didnt anticipate the Mavs or Thunder being 3rd or 4th, but the Lakers, Grizz, Rockets, whatever, i could see get upset by the Clips even without CP

pulling the upset before everyone else lol
