He should probably go on Dr. Phil, no idea how he will recover from the trauma he's felt today.

"The owners half-pushed this through, and Stern took it the rest of the way," a league source involved in nixed trade told Y! Sports.

(More) "In the end, David didn’t like that the players were dictating where they wanted to go," source says.

Explain why we have to "Free Chris Paul". Stern didn't veto a free agency signing.

I just don't get it. So where is Chris Paul going to go next season?

LA? NY?

Exactly. Stern is the one that created this shit ass league in the first place.

From prominent agent: "Owners went nuts b/c of the whole competitive-balance thing. I don’t think Chris Paul will get traded this year."

Yahoo Sports reported that NBA Commissioner David Stern killed the trade after several owners complained. Citing anonymous sources, Yahoo reported Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was one of the most vocal owners upset about the deal, done the same day as the end of the lockout, which was supposed to restore competitive balance in the league.
Why does this not surprise me? The guy was trying to get Chris to his team.

As for competitive balance, I'm tired of hearing about it. If the NBA and owners wanted competitive balance they should have got a hard cap. They fucked up, don't penalize the Hornets for your fuck ups.

Don't get mad at the NBA that the Hornets are fucked up in the first place. You're ignoring the biggest factor in all of this-- it only happened because the Hornets are owned by the NBA.
