The Kansas City Chiefs are 1-3 and the organization is losing confidence in Matt Cassel.

Cassel has five touchdown passes and three interceptions this season despite playing fairly average or below average defenses over the first four games.

"Look, there's a big reason why they went after Peyton Manning as hard as they did this offseason," said a source with knowledge of Chiefs president Scott Pioli's thinking. "What you're seeing from Cassel is pretty much what was expected. He's a really nice backup, not a starter."

I gave him a pass last year because they were without Jamaal Charles. But Charles is back and running well lately, and Cassel is still not playing well. I wouldn't be surprised if they do so poorly this season that they draft a QB next year.

This guy is so up and down idk what's up.

Careful what you wish for. Brady Quinn is waiting in the wings.

I never really looked at him as a starting QB. The chiefs have some nice pieces on offense to, so he doesn't really have excuses as to why he hasn't played well.

They took a big risk on giving an average at best player a chance to be the starting QB. There is no reason he should still be in there as the starter on any team honestly haha.
