The Chiefs released a preseason depth chart Monday, and listed Thomas Jones as their first-team tailback ahead of Jamaal Charles.
At least Charles is moving up; Kestahn Moore got first-team reps when Jones was bothered by a minor injury early last week. Still, it's looking increasingly likely that Jones will be the Chiefs' nominal starter to open the season, presumably splitting early-down work with Charles right down the middle. Charles should dominate passing-down snaps, but he's probably not going to flirt with 300 touches if he's not used as an every-down back. Aug. 9 - 4:50 pm et

I know it is early and a pre-season list. But this is just bad. You are KC, you have to realize you don't have the team to win it right now, but the young Charles in and let him take a lot of the carries. Let TJ get some touches, especially in short yardage, but go with the young and youthful JC.

Jamaal Charles should be their man. Oh well, Dexter McCluster will be ahead of him soon at this rate

He's gonna be a kind of "slash" weapon. He is most fitted and deadly in the slot, I truly believe.

ya, as a KC fan the Jones signing was a good one but Charles earned the starting spot as
the rb.
IMO Thomas Jones is starting because he's better at pass protection.

I'm pretty sure they both will get some good touches. TJ is a good running back, and I have no qualm with him taking the load for a while

Haley is an idiot. I'm not sure how far behind Charles is to Chris Johnson's make-them-miss ability, but Charles should be given the FT opportunity. He'll rip the Browns a brand new one this Sunday and Haley will still find some stupid reason to muzzle JC.
