I disagree -- I think its a very good fit if Donavan can manage it correctly
 
I've said it for awhile now, but Melo isn't washed up yet. He just can't be a 1st option iso heavy player anymore. He'll be the third option in this offense in a Kevin Love type of role, and he'll kill it.
 
OKC now should be ahead of Houston and potentially SanAn. Its a 5 man unit (Russ, Roberson, PG, Melo, Adams) that I think can hang with the Warriors five about as well as any other team

they were already capped out of space with THJ, Noah, and Courtney Lee making $48M combined, so its not like they had use for that cap space
 
Its now all about the tank and building around Porzingis/THJ/Ntilikina

It's not about using cap space, it's about paying 20 million dollars for a 2nd round pick they otherwise would not have to spend. They could buy that 2nd round pick next year during the draft for less than 5 million.
