I'm beginning to think the Panthers are readying to blow it up and start over.

I don't think the Benjamin trade is as big of a deal, (overrated, often out of shape), but GM Marty Hurney didn't let Cam know about it before the trigger was pulled. Not that they have to, but the organization has a history of keeping their QB in the know when it comes to major personnel moves.

Cam is pissed about it and although the Panthers are a playoff contender, they aren't good enough with what they have and don't seem to be on a path to improve. I'm thinking the team finishes out the season and looks to trade their big name veterans. The OL is garbage, they lack quality skill position guys, and Keuchly can't avoid concussions.

If Cam becomes available, I don't think a team like Arizona hesitates to play "lets make a deal".

Carolina's poorly run, but moving on from Cam is a mistake imo. Bringing in a new OC and a GM who can build an offensive roster around Cam would do a world of good for Cam and that team.

While you may think Benjamin is out of shape, his frame alone, mixed with his jumping ability, wingspan and ability to draw DPI's help him out in that department.

It's not that I think he's out of shape, he's literally reported to camp heavy and poorly conditioned the last 2 years. At this point, his size in the red zone is all that makes him attractive. He's not a great route-runner, doesn't get much separation, and isn't consistent. I am from Upstate NY and related to a lot of giddy Bills fans. I won't say Benjamin makes them worse off, but if he was what Carolina drafted him to be, they wouldn't have traded him away for a 4th round pick.

Could be them hitting the reset button.

Rivera has run his course and still makes the same mistakes he has for years. He is one of the worst in-game coaches in league history, as evidenced by repeated, consistent patterns throughout his tenure, such as reverting to overly conservative playcalling on both sides of the ball with any lead. He's also completely gutless. He's been pressured to fire the pathetic Mike Shula for years but won't do it.
