What does the Pels cap situation look like, tho?

Could they put together a big three this offseason?

Pelicans are in good shape now, would be much better if they didn't get Asik & Hill all that money

Gay can probably be had for cheap now. Would fit into the Heat's roster of social outcasts just swimmingly

Gay coming off an achilles rupture probably isn't a guy I'd want on my team.

I know you're joking, but they could have had him 2 years ago, he was practically begging for the job. Makes me wonder if Benson pays up this time.

Yes the warriors will beat the pels
But at least round 1 will be fun. The one thing that bugs them is size. Will not be a sweep imo

I don't think it's a guarantee that the Pels get the 8th seed. Obviously this was a no brainer move for them, but it's still gonna take time for them to mesh

Yes, part of the reason he isn't the coach now.

The beautiful part of all of this is the Pels can still go out this summer and get another max guy, or several smaller guys like a JJ Redick.

Calipari has no reason to come back to the NBA unless he gets full control.

Even though the NBA is an obvious step up, he'd be taking a pay cut and have less power than his current position.

They currently have $87.5M in active contracts (although in one way or another, I doubt Asik's $10.6M stays, whether traded or stretched), and $22.4M in cap holds. $16.9M of that belongs to Jrue Holiday

With a projected $102M cap, it would be really tight to make a move for someone like Chris Paul. Asik+Hill's contracts would have to be offshored to do so, most likely

I meant to throw Asik getting stretched in there, which they were considering even before this deal. I think they keep Hill, yes he's overpaid but his impact defensively can't be understated.
