The Atlanta Braves are back in a spot they used to reside in consistently: first place in the National League East. They lead by a tenous 1.5 games over the New York Mets and 2.5 over the Philadelphia Phillies.
In an effort to maintain its lead, especially with stellar rookie outfielder Jason Heyward on the DL, Atlanta is seeking to upgrade its offense.

FOX Sports reports that the Braves are trying to trade for some of the biggest right-handed bats in the league: Josh Willingham of Washington, Corey Hart of Milwaukee and Jose Bautista of Toronto. All three outfielders become free agents after next season.

The Braves are pitching-rich and any potential trade partner would likely ask for pitchers in return, Fox reports.
Willingham has hit 14 home runs and scored 42 runs. Hart has 18 homers and 60 RBIs. Bautista has 20 home runs and 50 RBIs.

I think the Braves will have to pick up someone if that want to maintain that lead in the NL East.

It would probably take at least a decent pitching prospect to get Jose IMO.

Bautista has 2 homers in his last 21 games. It's obvious he was riding the hot streak of his life, he shouldn't warrant much in the trade market.

I think it'll be smarter for them to just sign somebody or promote from within to replace Heyward in the meantime.
