Pablo Sandoval is headed to Boston.

The Red Sox and the free-agent third baseman have agreed to a five-year deal worth "close to" $100 million, according to CBS' Jon Heyman.

Sandoval's reportedly on his way to Boston on Monday morning to finalize the deal. It'll be a busy day for the Red Sox, as they're also reportedly expected to finalize a deal with free agent Hanley Ramirez as well.

By adding Sandoval and Ramirez, the left side of the Red Sox infield goes from a scrapheap to an embarrassment of riches. The team is still high on 22-year-old shortstop Xander Bogaerts, so there's been talk of possibly moving Ramirez to left field for the first time in his major league career and trading Yoenis Cespedes. Whatever general manager Ben Cherington has envisioned for his 2015 Opening Day roster, one thing is certain, there's still plenty of moves left to be done.

In Sandoval, the Red Sox get a three-time World Series champion who is just 28 years old. The switch-hittier is solid defensively, despite a robust frame, and projects to benefit well from hitter friendly Fenway Park.

Nine years after the Boston Red Sox traded Hanley Ramirez away, the shortstop is reportedly on his way back to Beantown.

The Red Sox and Ramirez are expected to finalize a deal in the range of five years, $90 million on Monday, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

How long until they're traded to the Dodgers for financial relief?

Bleh on Sandoval. The years on hanram's contract isn't great either but it's better than giving panda that much money.

Really happy about Hanley, kinda happy-ish about Sandoval.

Anyone need an OF though? Assuming we keep Boegarts as our SS, these are our OFs

Hanley (LF)
Betts
JBJ
Cespedes
Victorino
Craig
Rusney Castillo

I'd love to see some giant trade with JBJ, Cecchini, Barnes, and any other top prospect outside of Swihart realky, to get another top flight P, like Chris Sale

I can see Bogaerts getting moved. With Castillo, JBJ (Bleh), Betts, Craig, and Victorino in the outfield, there's barely room for Hanley out there (assuming Cespedes is moved for an arm, which if he isn't makes the log jam even bigger).

Sandoval would have been lucky to get half of this deal if not for his flukey post season. The Red Sox are going to be regretting this deal almost immediately

Put Sandoval in LF. That would be awesome to watch, haha.

yup, plus he's someone who's probably not going to age well.

I still don't love this deal, and like Cheato said, I WILL regret this deal

I am mostly happy about Hanley. If we didn't sign Hanley, I'd probably not like the Sandoval deal at all.

You can't deny how good their lineup will be tho.

Now they gotta trade some pieces to get starting pitching.

the talent is there but so is the potential for rapid decline and injury.

I agree. This deal will obviously hit them badly long term but if all else fails, they at least have a very good farm system.
