you dont read or know much do you? lol.

if dwight doesnt sign an extension he can just outright sign with boston. theyll have the cap space.

and to be honest, id rather sign with rondo and jeff green then other teams if i was dwight..
And Paul Pierce...

And a team potentially with KG and Ray as role players, not the main pieces, and with the Clippers (Top Ten Protected) pick.

Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green will be their building blocks for the future.

After the members of the "not so big three" retire, it's back to the cellar for them.

DH12 is NOT making it to FA, and the Celtics have NO assets to get him via trade.

You undervalue expiring contracts. And why couldn't Dwight make it to FA? The Magic are convinced he's resigning. Unless Dwight straight up tells them he won't, which he won't do, I don't think the Magic trade him.

You're not gonna build a winning team around guys who aren't getting any offers and guys who want a chance to start.

Hate to tell you, but teams built around guys like Fesenko aren't going to do anything in the NBA

Oh really?

Dwight Howard insists that he hasn’t seen a contract extension offer from the Magic, though Orlando GM Otis Smith claims that it’s on the table.

"I haven’t seen a contract," Howard said. "We just got finished playing a playoff series and now you are asking me about contracts? … There’s no need to be talking about contracts and where I’m going to sign.‘’ Smith said the offer is a two-year extension, and he’s not optimistic that Howard will sign.

However, Otis Smith is probably one of the few GM's in the league who would risk letting Howard walk for nothing.

But players may want to pull a Heat and form a super team in Disney

He doesn't think Howard is going to sign the extension because Howard wants to wait until after the season is over to make up his mind. He wants to see the team get better.

Not possible with Gilbert and Hedo's contracts on the books for the next few seasons.
Not right away, but after Turk and Gil's contracts come off the books, then yeah.

Does anyone think Boston will trade Rondo? I find it weird that Doc would consider a five year deal, which tells me Ainge has something up his sleeve to keep the team in contention even after the "big 3" ride off into the sunset.

If the Celtics want to be relevant after the big three leave, they have to KEEP Rondo.

Honestly, I think they're screwed no matter what.

I think the best chance they have at being relevant after the big three is by trading Rondo and getting a number of players for him though, you know Rondo's trade value is out of the roof.

Im pretty sure that their is gonna be a lot of players that are gonna want to play with Rondo and the Celtics after the Big 3 retire.

Only Rondo and Pierce are under contract in 2 years (well, a team option for Avery Bradley). Ray Allen will probably still be there to shoot corner 3s on a cheap contract, maybe bring back KG for cheap... Sign someone who wants to play with Rondo and the vets... They are far from done.

Exactly how?

Possibly a rough patch for a year, MAYBE two. That's gonna be it though...

Celts have the clippers 2012 first round pick (top 10 pick), and they will have the $ to spend come 2012 FA, which is pretty solid in terms of depth.
