I'm always wary of college coaches. The comparisons he's getting right now to Stevens are foolish. He was an exception, he stood out. 

 
Yeah Stevens was, for lack of a better term, a wunderkind, especially given where he was having his success.

Kevin Ollie was a candidate for the Oklahoma City Thunder head coaching job, but his buyout was a non-starter for the franchise.

Ollie had negotiated a $5 million buyout from UConn in his contract.

Ollie was considered a strong candidate for the job with his success as a coach at Connecticut and his connection as a former teammate to Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

The Thunder instead hired Billy Donovan.
