Who has the best defense in the league and why? Too many GG's to count? Unsung team that doesnt get any credit? I know defensive stats are hard to use as a basis so this will mostly be matter of opinion.

Seattle Mariners, no questions asked, outside of LF and 2B, they have a gold glove caliber player at every position.

The Jays have one of the worst outfield defenses in baseball. Vernon Wells has declining range, Adam Lind and Travis Snider are natural DHs, and Jose Bautista is a converted 3B. Their infield defense is nice, but their OF defense is horrible, so they're middle of the pack in terms of defense.

I really like the Rays defense with Pena, Longoria, Crawford is without a doubt the best defensive LFer in the league. Bartlett is good, Zobrist can play any position except for catcher. BJ plays very well too.

Rays, especially because of the speed they have in the outfield.

Yeah, Snider should shift back to DH once we find a better defensive replacement though, maybe Inglett (if he's even still on the team?).

A couple of years ago, our outfield was pretty decent, I guess that's not the case anymore. Snider Wells Bautista will likely be our outfield but youcan't really say it's horrible, it's average.

I've seen a couple of Jays games this spring and Snider's fielding has been a lot better than last year.

vernon has faceplanted, and is overpaid
True but his wrist is healthy know and I'm at least hoping he gets back to his form. Not saying that I have high expectations from him this year but 20 homeruns and a 280 average would make me happy.

Twins, they don't make alot of errors and have gold glove potential every where besides LF and RF (considering Punto starts at 3B all he does is defend)

when Wells was on top of his game and we still had Rios and Inglett in the outfield, our defense was really good, but like b_line said, our outfield is terrible now

Yeah we are. Rajai Davis, Coco Crisp and Ryan Sweeney in the outfield with Kevin Kouzmenoff, Cliff Pennington, Mark Ellis and Daric Barton in the infield and Kurt Suzuki is one of the most underrated players in the game. Especially defensively.

17 posts and no one mentioned the Red Sox?

Ellsbury-Cameron is left and center is awesome. JD Drew isnt terrible in Right either

Youk is a gold glover at 1st
Pedroia is a gold glover at 2nd
Scutaro is an excellent defender at SS. should have won a GG last year
Beltre might be the best defensive 3B in baseball

Catcher is their weakness though. Vmart and Varitek are meh

but im going with the M's

Figgins is great at 3rd
Wilson is awesome at SS
Felipe Lopez is ok at 2nd
Kotchman is awesome at 1st

Ichiro and Gutierrez in the OF is sweet.
idk who plays LF lol Byrnes? he's not bad

C, i have no idea, but he's probably good

You lost all credibility when you thought Felipe Lopez was on the Mariners :D
