Between McCann and Napoli for me, and went with Napoli.

I'll take Napoli's far superior offensive skill with the downside on defense.

Kind of tough but I went with McCann

Carlos Santana might have something to say about that.

If Carlos has the year I think he'll have, he'll be the best catcher in the MLB at the end of the season. He could hit 30 homers and draw 100 walks. Incredible numbers for a catcher.

Im going with Alex Avila. Hes a good defensive catcher and I think he is going to improve on his offense with Prince in the lineup now.

Not that Avila is bad, but he had a .366 BABIP last year... His average should regress.

You have that backwards
He hit 19 HR's and 82 RBI with only 464 AB's. And now with that improved Tigers lineup I think he is going to see better pitches to hit.

I know its extremely early, but he has also started off the season pretty well.

He's not a good defensive catcher and he had a good offensive season last year that he likely won't repeat.

I disagree fine gentleman. Alex only had 5 errors committed, better than the league average for throwing out runners, and his fielding range was higher than league average as well.

I think he will be a better hitter this year than last year. He also commands that pitching staff well, he has that guy named Verlander who he helped him improve tremendously. Just ask Justin himself, he attributes his progress in part to Avila.

Avila really is a good defensive catcher. Has a very accurate arm, and is a terrific game manager. He'd probably also get my vote. Tough ass poll though. Really is a toss up imo.
