they gave him the whole mmle? eh. not like many game changing free agents are left anyways.

Well, it sounded like the Knicks wanted a PG rather than a SF, so they were willing to throw that mmle at a PG, and the only guys they were interested in still were Davis & Arenas.

And the Heat were after Baron Davis as well so the Knicks might have been concerned they would lose him to the Heat if they only offered the veteran minimum.

Knicks lost their full-MLE when they waived Billups and got Tyson Chandler.

Its good to see that quality players are wanting to come to the Knicks for relatively cheap. If they can continue to sign these types of players the depth of the team will be great for the team come playoff time.

Glen Grunwald announced today that the Knicks have signed Baron Davis.

Davis was waived by the Cavaliers last week under the league's amnesty provision.

Howard Beck of the New York Times reports that Davis signed for the veteran's minimum which means the Knicks still have their 'room exception' of $2.5 million to spend. The team is looking to bolster its frontcourt depth.

wow i'm surprised he signed for the minimum.

Why would he need to sign for more? He's still getting paid a ton of money by the Cavs.
