they both wanted everything set up prior to signing the contractDelirium said:I will be glad to see either of them lose.
But damn, August 26th? Don't boxing matches take forever to set up? I was expecting this for next year or something.

This is gonna be huge not just for the two of them, but it is essentially boxing VS mma. Whoever wins will win it for their entire sport.
It's a huge risk. If Floyd wins it'll reinforce boxing's legitimacy, but if he loses it'll be devastating. If he wins it wouldn't nearly make as much of an impact as him losing.Hurricane Season said:
The fact that this fight is even happening is a loss for boxing.

How? You have arguably the greatest p4p boxer of all time fighting a guy with literally zero professional bouts under his belt.

By beating an amateur? How?
Right, everyone would agree that Floyd would perhaps be literally murdered if he tried to fight Conor in MMA. But the question isn't if boxers can do MMA, it's whether or not MMA guys can do boxing. And if they can then boxing will look like the WNBA of combat sports.elcheato said:I agree, MMA fighters are probably not better at boxing than actual boxers. But boxers also would get destroyed in an MMA bout by actual MMA fighters.
