I'm not sure I understand this deal on either side. I get that Dodgers want to clear payroll, but they easily got fleeced if they give up both Gonzalez and Kazmir for an aging Matt Kemp. And how does this help the Braves who aren't ready to compete? Certainly they win the deal (IMO), but it doesn't really help them unless they slip the players elsewhere.
This seems to me like a deal was made to make two other deals and that just doesn't seem wise to initiate a trade that may only incite another trade. Risky and unpredictable.
