Asham admits his post-fight gestures were "classless"

After KOing Caps F Jay Beagle, Penguins veteran winger Aaron Asham went WWE with a few very clear gestures, mocking his fallen foe.

After the game, Asham offered some sharp self-criticism, calling his own actions, "uncalled for and kind of classless … a classless act on my part." That sounds about right, Aaron.

He seemed genuinely disappointed in himself. If Beagle had been more seriously hurt -- and how do we really know that he hasn't been, head injuries being kind of unpredictable in nature -- Asham probably would be feeling pretty guilty, too.

In the heat of the moment, players can do things they later regret. Of course, there can be consequences for those actions. In the past, when players have made particular gestures, they've been subject to suspension. In that light, I expect Asham to face such a fate.

Maybe they were but, I'm not hating. It was heat of the moment stuff (though I would have probably yelled at my TV if he did it to the Bruins but I'd get over it)...plus it was hilarious.

Well the knockout only happened because Beagle bit off WAYYYY more than he could chew. I mean props for manning up but you gotta know when to pick your battles lol

I don't really think he had much of a choice. He hit Letang's helmet off his head and I'm pretty sure he knew he was gonna have to fight.

Lol Asham looked so badass. The only part that makes me think of it as classless is the fact that here is this guy on the capitals, and he is fighting for his team, he may know that asham has close to 100 fights under his belt. But he is willing to stick up for his team. Now that takes guts and to get beat so badly than mocked is kinda fucked IMO.
