The Falcons are a good club. They do what you have to do to win. They don't turn the ball over, they don't committ penalties. Their defense is ok. Very good special teams. But anyone who says the Falcons aren't getting game changing or even game winning calls nearly every week isn't watching the games.

I got the chance to watch them against the 49ers early in the year, and I can tell you that they are definitely for real, they have a good QB in Ryan, a good RB, and a really good receiver in White, along with a veteran presence in Gonzo who's a huge security blanket, and sure, a lot of the times it doesn't look GREAT, but they get it done, and how is a team that beats the Bucs twice, the Saints, the Packers, and the Ravens not for real?

Put them in their place? The Saints won by a FG. People act like the Saints shit on them and that the Falcons are this horrible team now. They lost to the defending Super Bowl champs by 3 and already beat them earlier in the season. No one was put in any places.

LOL

Like that in any way proves the Falcons were not a legit team.

All year minus tonight, they were the most fundamentally sound, and very well coached team. Even though the final score indicated a blow out its really not as bad as people want to make it out to be. Yes the Packers won big and were easily the hottest team coming into the playoffs and we got beat but the reason the score ended up so bad is that a run first team made a few bad decisions and put themselves into a pass first situation against a good pass defense.

Frankly I'm tired of the way people want to disrespect a team that put together a really good year all the while flying under the radar. Saying stuff like Green Bay should have won their first meeting, or change a couple of things and this team would have won this game. Green Bay in the first game never had the lead in the game so the idea that they would have won is incredibly naive. The Saints never showed the Falcons anything but 2 very close games that were split and they each scored the exact same amount of points against each other.

Falcons were the best team for the course of the season, while the Packers did exactly what was needed despite looking like shit for half the year. We ran into the hottest team in the NFC and when that happens in football, they usually find themselves in the super bowl regardless of records.

/homer rant lol

Sorry read through this and seen another forum asking same things basically. Picked a good time to rant, after a game I figured we would lose but was compounded by the poor situation that Ryan put them into early

Thought the Falcons were the "Real Deal"? You been trying to brag on them since I said earlier this year that they weren't as good as their record because the teams they faced.

No, I had hope in my team. I was unaware it was illegal to have hope in your favorite team. And one bad game doesnt mean the team is complete garbage
Im not even gonna pull a twill tho...no excuses
we played like shit and got shitted on

Never said the team was shit, all I heard however was how impossible it was for the Falcons to lose because of Matt Ryans home regular season record.. yet hes bombed in the playoffs.

Falcons are still a tough team to me. I think it was more that I didn't give the Packers enough credit. As dumb as it sounds, if they weren't in the NFC North, I would of probably given them more credit. I just hate the fact of rooting for a rival. Even though I don't completely hate the Packers. I can tolerate them, but I definitely didn't give them enough credit. At the same time. If the game was played again. I would still pick the Falcons. Obviously Matt Ryans home record can't be that great forever. He'll lose from time to time. This was one of those times.

Yeah with all we've done this season I can't say one loss makes us not "farreal" We did come back pretty rusty from that bye week. No excuses tho, we're still young it's not the last of us.

They had a good season, the defense just isn't good enough. They showed some improvements this year but they still need work, especially the secondary. I think the Falcons could use another good WR, some more work on the offensive line and they'll be good. If the offense gets behind, they just can't keep up, they aren't explosive enough. Need some upgrades at a few positions through the draft and free agency and they'll be strong again next year, making another run.

Thats our main problem. When GB was doubling on John Abraham no one else stepped up. Our secondary was almost nonexistent. We gotta improve our entire defense. You're right about the O-Line too, can't allow them to eat up Matt like GB did smh.
