Very sad that his time with us has come to an end. He's been a great leader, and a great player for us. It's too bad that we couldn't win a World Series with him, but at least he's been here through his whole deal. Wish him the best wherever he goes.Aramis Ramirez believes his time with the Cubs may be coming to an end.
He left Tuesday's game against the Brewers with a mild right quad strain in the seventh inning and was asked after the game if he may have played his final contest with the franchise.
"Yeah, there is a good chance. I'm a free agent," Ramirez said. "I don't know what's happening, but it looks like I'm going to hit the market."
Ramirez's agent Paul Kinzer will meet with Cubs interim general manager Randy Bush on Thursday about Ramirez's future. Kinzer confirmed that Ramirez will seek a three-year contract.
Ramirez is in the last year of a five-year, $75 million contract signed in November 2006 with the Cubs.
Thoughts?
