NFL.com - Madonna will perform at halftime of Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis this coming February, according to sources.

"We do not comment on the musical talent for the Super Bowl until we have something to announce," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.

The pop star has never performed during the famed halftime show.

The league attempted to lock her up in 1998 (Super Bowl XXXIII) and 2000 (Super Bowl XXXV), with Madonna backing out of the gig each time.
NFL is so fucking lame lol.

Yay.

We get to watch some 50 year old anorexic chick dry hump the stage during the sounds of techno/pop music... BRILLIANT!!

I read Madonna and that decided it for me. Be stocking up on food at halftime. Maybe they want to see if they can get the least amount of people to watch the halftime show. This is their best shot.

Like what aspect of men ranging from like 13-80 sounds good to have her as the show?
Any man who listens to her deserves a loss of the man card.

1) I'll rock 80s Madonna any day, not sorry about it

2) They're probably not concerned with men 13-80. They're gonna watch the game regardless. If they do actually get women to watch the halftime show, it'd be an added bonus to the amount of men that are watching the game.

Money makes the world go round...

I don't think anyone extra will tune in just to see her perform.
Don't understand why they aren't trying to appease their largest fanbase, rather than a few females.

When I think of Football.... I think of Madonna.

Was ZZ Top booked already or something? Hell I'd take Bob Seger. A buncha fat football fans would love to hear a guy sing about a chick struttin her ass around.

Madonna is one if not the greatest living performer still around since MJ died. It should be 10000x better than what the Black Eyed Peas did last year. Madonna is a living legend and really she appeals to everyone, she's not an attention whore like Gaga. So it'll be the best halftime show since Prince

15 years ago Madonna would have been a good halftime show performance.

Because odds are she'll wear some kinda skin-tight outfit that will make me vomit in my mouth a little bit. I'm not denying her talent and that she's a tremendous performer, but I might have to raise the volume and just turn my back to the TV.

The best part about the Black Eyed Peas performance, Usher.

She doesn't appeal to me, or most people I know.
I have 0% interest in watching her old ass try to perform.

Again, it's not you or your friends they'd be trying to entice. You're already going to be watching the game. I understand where you're coming from and I agree too because I don't care about seeing Madonna perform right now. But I'm pretty sure their focus isn't about appeasing this select group of people.

I read a post on another forum that sums everything up.

Real football fans are so involved in the game, they spend half-time drinking, eating, taking a leak, posting on PSD, and fixing what furniture they broke in the first half... So they don't have time for the half-time crap.
replace PSD with SI, and yes.
