I'm sure the Bulls as a whole would too, but the Cavs wouldn't

The Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers have stalled their trade discussions centered on Pau Gasol for Andrew Bynum, according to sources.

The talks are not entirely dead, but are described as no longer progressing.

The Cavaliers have until Jan. 7 to trade Bynum before his contract becomes fully guaranteed.

The major issue is the Lakers' insistence on acquiring an additional asset from the Cavaliers beyond Bynum.

The Lakers would save more than $20 million in salary and luxury taxes by doing the deal.

Apparently trade talks have "intensified" in the last hour.

Are they? I'm sure they can get more than nothing at the deadline if they truly tried.

Who goes after Bynum after he is waived?
Heat? Clippers? Nets?

Damn if he went to Miami.

If he goes somewhere, I bet it's either the Heat or Clippers.

But the big question is, does he really want to play?

Bill Simmons suggested it, but Bynum played this very well. lol
Dude got paid, and now can go play for a contender. I'm sure he wants to play, just not for Cleveland.

And if that is the case, he is a lot smarter than I thought he was.

Probably not, but it seems like that is how it will end up being. So either way, he made out good lol.

It would be pretty smart (and shitty) if that was his thought process though lol

Bynum is a horrible fit with the Heat. He wouldn't be featured, he would rarely get the ball, he'd slow down their offense.

Cavs shouldn't have interest in Pau anymore, anyway. They should be looking to deal Jack, Miles, Varejao, etc. This team sucks.

I don't think he'd be featured on any contending team, nor should he.

He's not engaged in the game unless he is featured.

I think he'd be more engaged in a winning atmosphere.

If he wants any future in the league (which he might not) he is going to have to go to a contending team and show he can be a role player.
