2015 was some nagging injuries which is why he performed so poorly.  IN 2014 he was a finalist for the GG IIRC.
In RF, he was incredible.  I want to say fangraphs did an article on him like two days ago to show his incredible range.  in 2016 he was the best OF in the game from a defensive standpoint.
based on what? i get that eaton is an excellent player, but among qualified outfielders Eaton was third in DRS behind Pillar and Betts and 2nd in UZR/150.

So is this you admitting that the GG process is flawed or that you are?

Defensive War from Fangraphs.  And I was wrong, Pillar was better.  Adam was second.

Yeah I embarrass duke nation by not basing my opinion on baseball players solely on one number. *sighs*

Are you a Duke fan? If so, please don't be one anymore

I still can't believe you actually think Eaton is better than arguably the 2nd best non-pitcher in the league lol

harper is the 2nd best player in baseball and most here would agree with that
He wasn't even remotely close last year and the thinking crowd would all agree with that.

The thinking crowd = the people who let computers do that thinking for them?

If you aren't able to watch literally every baseball game played to properly evaluate every play(er) without a dependence on numbers, then you have to supplement that with something, and it ain't your gut.

You can debate the merits of certain numbers and certain stats, but your constant dismissal of numbers/computers is hilarious. This game is based on individual performance, and it can be quantified with numbers/computers, there is no team work involved that is hard to quantify.

You think I just dismiss numbers? That's wrong

If being the voice of reason for people who look solely at numbers without actually watching baseball is a complete dismissal, then yeah, you got me.

And you're acting like there are real baseball fans alive who watch 0 games and just look at number for fun to argue for no reason.
