Ah, and there is the false pretense: I do not believe that marriage is a right (though the American government has taken the initiative to ascribe it as one). If we are to look at whether marriage is a right or a privilege (or something else), then we must look at the first institution(s) of marriage and the parameters behind it.

Rights are something you are born with, and nobody is born married.

So, just because YOU have an opinion, that doesn't mean its correct either. Its our due diligence to find what is morally and ethically correct and enforce that for the good of our nation and future generations.

So, making gay marriage is ethically and morally correct?
So we need to make gay marriage illegal because it somehow isn't good for our nation?

I'm baffled by these statements. How do gay people getting married negatively affect our nation?

I'm confused.

May be better to make a separate thread for this and then merge posts, as we are no longer talking about AP, but:

Gay marriage is not ethically and morally correct. You need to look at the defining parameters behind marriage to see if it would be. To see those, we need to look at where marriage originated.

Where I'm coming from is not making homosexual marriage illegal, because it doesn't qualify as marriage. They can have any union they want I suppose, but it is not marriage.

And yes, I would hope that something would not be made legal that isn't good for our nation.

There have been plenty of studies that support the statement that homosexual couples are to the detriment of either children or our nation. All we have to do is look at other nations who have adopted these laws before us:

“We can be certain that same sex marriage will do no such thing as encourage stable marriage whether for heterosexuals and/or homosexuals. Marriage in Scandinavia, Spain, Netherlands and elsewhere is in deep decline.”

Morally or ethically correct based on your outdated rulebook, my friend.

I'm pretty sure that "Marvin" and "Veronica" got divorced because, like many people in this nation, they got married too soon and/or believed in some hilariously naive idea of fate/fairy tale scenario so they just went ahead and got hitched even with all of their glaring problems.

The heterosexual divorce rate has nothing to do with Neil Patrick Harris and his husband.

The problems with children in our nation have more to do with a bunch of shitty "professional" parents who don't believe in discipline and think it's a crime to slap a kid's face or spank him/her. Those people are the problem with our children.

Marriage has problems because people shouldn't get married so readily and easily, not because of homosexuality.

Explain how homosexuality and gay marriage are not good for our nation. Just try to, you little prick.

Homosexuality is neither immoral nor unethical.

You are being incredibly offensive.

I think it's safe to say we should move these posts to the new thread on "gay marriage" since this thread is a bit different.

Anyways, back to AP, I hope hes not told to apologize by the team. You can speak with someone to try and change their opinion, but people shouldn't have to apologize for their opinion.

Asians are awful drivers.
Women are gold diggers.
Black people are lazy.
White people are greedy.
All Atheists are Satanists.
All men with traditional feminine attributes are gay.
All women with traditional masculine attributes are dykes.
All Catholic priests molest children.
You can tell if a Mexican has recently smoked weed because their sweat smells like it.

^If I had these opinions, I would have to apologize for them.
