"To each his own, [but] I'm not with it," Peterson said. "I have relatives who are gay. I'm not biased towards them. I still treat them the same. I love 'em. But again, I'm not with that. That's not something I believe in. But to each his own."

I give Peterson a lot of credit for not dodging the question but talk about playing with a PR hand grenade...

Adrian was honest and I guess this is the best way you could put it....outside of just lying to appease the masses.  Now if I could be honest for a minute, what the hell is with all the gay talk in pro sports?  Less than 1% of the professional sports landscape is "out of the closest" but yet the media feels the need to poke & pry the issue with the bigger name guys.

i support gay marriage but everyone has their own opinions as he said.

id like to know why so many people are asked those questions too. if they keep picking at them theyll get answers they dont like and itll scare the gay athletes away from coming out, imo.

Depends on who you ask.  I'm waiting for the people, (and there's a lot of them), who will come right out and say Peterson is "wrong" or even call him "offensive" because he doesn't agree with the lifestyle.

I really hate society.

Honestly, it's offensive to be against gay marriage, because there is literally no reason to have that belief.

It has little to do with lifestyle and more to do with equality.

You see, there's these things called 'opinions', though. Offensive to you, but not to others.

Honestly I have more respect for him after this just because he was honest about such a huge topic.

Believing black people shouldn't be married is also an opinion but offensive

Well in that case, I think [insert race here] are lazy, and women and Asians are awful drivers.

But it's just my opinion.

Nothing about this is really commendable.  It's fine that he sticks to his beliefs while trying not to offend anyone, but that's really all it was.  Trying to appease both sides while still expressing a strong opinion.

Not necessarily deserving of respect.

I'm just saying that the mere fact that something is an opinion doesn't justify it. AP is wrong, and it's that simple.

He's wrong to you. Just because you believe one thing and he believes another, doesn't make either one of you right or wrong. It's just like, your opinion, man.

You're taking it too far, this isn't a race issue, it's an issue with belief systems.  It shouldn't be any surprise religious folks are against gay marriage b/c regardless of what some like to think, the bible does not condone anything outside of the marriage of man and woman.

Those same people should be happy with the idea that married gay people will be punished in the afterlife by God anyway.

Religions are such a joke.

Who gives a fuck really. I'm not for it. But people who advocate both ways are so annoying to me. Such a minuscule issue in the grand scheme of things.

That being said, I have no problem with what AP said. And I'm sure more athletes have the same opinion than those who don't.

The bible says that Jesus condones sacrificing children but we don't preach that.

No, it's wrong to think that gays shouldn't be allowed to marry. You can oppose the practice all you want, but you can't deny the rights owed to them.

And that's not an opinion; that's fact.

By saying this you deny somebody their rights to express an opinion. Just because the subject is so clear to you that you think it has to be a fact doesn't mean it actually is.
Marriage is a thing made up by humans and those humans are entitled to their opinions as to who can participate.

Even if an opinion is so ridiculous and so shitty that it violates human rights and ethical codes and whatever, it can't be wrong in a factual sense. Opinions are right or wrong based on how a person conceives them.

And regardless, it would be hard to draw a line as to which opinions are actual facts and which aren't.
