We will be starting our 6th annual SI player rankings.

Don't be afraid to share your opinion, whether it's a popular one or not.  We will once again be going 10 spots deep at all 5 positions.

Please remember these two things, please vote on the polls and vote for the best player, don't be a homer.  Most of the polls will be open 24 hours, but if the first place vote getter gets 5 or more votes than the second vote getter than I will close the thread if I'm around.

Remember, this is based on who is currently the best player, not who has the potential to be the best.  Who would you take today?

Eh I'd say Lowry is closer to Dame's tier than he is the rest, and should be a unanimous #7 for this vote, but then yes it goes into the next tier

Dame's a good defender, right? Like, if Kyrie is...

It's funny seeing someone with a lebron avy trashing Kyrie, but then I remembered you said you were a lebron bandwagoner.

Kyrie's a solid defender. Better than he gets respect for, but he's also not a lockdown guy. He's incredibly quick and does a good job at staying in between his man. Hardly a defensive negative

He can be a good defender when he really focuses on it, that doesn't mean he is though. Same can be said of James Harden

Both Lillard and Kyrie are awful defenders

I really want to go Lowry here, but with his last two playoffs it's hard. Mike Conley should be in the discussion as well.

Honestly Lowry, Wall, and Conley > Kyrie and Lillard

But people love their offense and flashy players

Honestly Kyrie should be playing in a Greek Basketball League.

If lowry could show up in the playoffs id have him over lillard but dude chokes up every year. Regular season wise tho prolly would take lowry bc hes a way better defender than lillard

Lowry is garbage. Wall is a stat padding guy on a shitty team. Conley is a true pg but his assist number is barely over 5 so he's only "great" for his defense. Talk about not watching basketball. And curry is a "great defender". My lord. I could be a "great defender" too if I constantly got to take the night off on defense.

already know what the response will be too: "curry guarded Westbrook" ... Yes, at the start of games. Got absolutely roasted by him too. "Curry was hurt" ... Looked incredibly hurt when he scores 16 in a row in OT. Or when he couldn't miss during stretches. The "he's hurt" card conveniently gets played when he doesn't do well and it's forgotten and "he's back" when he goes off.

Don't even see an argument for those other guards. The ONLY thing that they have over Kyrie is defense. Could also touch on how Kyrie has improved his defensive game dramatically this year since coming back and being in the best shape of his life. But we would rather talk about curry when he's sagging off Roberson in the corner or getting his face drilled by one of the greatest shots in finals history.

That was an amazing shot. All our kids will see that shot that took down the "greatest team ever" lol
