He’s signed for 3 years with no guarantee of Kawhi, there’s no pressure for the FO to give up the farm to get him
Dude the pressure is that Lebron isnt 26 and the window isnt big

By getting Lebron, you have to be all in now ad asap

No time to waste

they will have to trade for him regardless if they wait a year. thats all we've been saying. he has to be traded to la. the spurs can ask for a kings ransom.

lonzo/ingram/picks. kuz might even have to get dealt too. did you see what they wanted from philly? with better prospects too, they still wanted more.
If Kawhi is a free agent it will take substantially less to trade for him via S&T than it would to get him now

Next year will be their first year together, and that first year is always a tough transition year when making a new team

So that’ll be 2 years wasted

But no, go ahead, waste it. Im down

Im sure Lebron will so excited to be playing with a bunch of 20 year olds who have never been to the playoffs

Sounds like a good time for a 34 year old in his 16th year chasing rings

Knicks and Mario Hezojna have agreed to a deal..

We're taking on all players who've yet to live up to the hype

no it wont smh, in fact they'd actually pay more

If they trade for him now, they only have to move minimally $16M in salary. If they wait a year, they'd have to move $25.8M in salary.
Secondly, the Spurs don't have to do a S&T next season; they can accept nothing in return and force him to go to a team with cap space, which adds pressure for the Lakers.

But again, there isn't a way for the Lakers to S&T next year for Kawhi without giving up Lonzo or Ingram, so why wait a year and not try to win right now?

Now we wait on the roster moves..

I mean Lakers biggest problem from games I watched was a goto scorer.. and BI got more and more comfortable being that as the year went on..

I say stay put..

Ok yea it would take more salary but they could give up one of Ingram/Lonzo instead of both or whatever it is the Spurs would require now. And why would the Spurs let him leave for nothing when they can get some actual assets out of it? That would be gross mismanagement.

Either way, it certainly sounds like the Lakers are operating under the assumption that they have most of the leverage now, as many reporters seem to agree with
