Philly isn't a serious contender until either Simmons learns to shoot or they trade Embiid.

I really don't think Simmons/Embiid as a duo can win a title with their current skillsets.

well duh, Embiid's potential is insane. But we're not talking about potential about next year, we're talking about results. and right now, if Ben Simmons cant shoot and Fultz still has the yips then Philly isnt beating Boston. And you continuously forget about Hayward adding above average defense and good playmaking/scoring to last years team.

its one thing to say rozier might piss off everyone with his lack of minutes. i get that argument from you. Boston's starting five is the 2nd best in the league

Why would they trade Embiid, ever? I'd move Simmons over Joel without hesitation

If they're gonna win championships with those two Simmons has to learn how to shoot. That's really what it boils down to. If he doesn't, pick one of them to build around and trade the other. Simmons at point-center could be something special, but they won't unleash that with Embiid there.

I like Philly and Raptors as teams

I hate boston but love king kyrie and tatum

Embiid is just sucha monster tho, dont care for simmons but if fultz becomes a stud that team is a problem

This def has truth to it but i think they can make it work

Even without Simmons shooting, the team is built real nicely to compete. Mostly bc they have embiid tho who is a major problem. Plus other guys who complement them real well

I think this would be more accurate for a team like Bucks and Giannis who doesnt have a guy like embiid

Giannis needs a jumper or that team is a nothing special in the playoffs. Philly is a problem either way. Again tho, mostly bc of embiid

Embiid will prolly have a ridiculous season. Hopefully he stays healthy. Hakeem 2.0

IF fultz becomes the guy he was pre-draft, then yes Philly is scary (not as good as us yet but certainly more of a challenge than toronto and not someone to take lightly)
You're not giving Toronto nearly enough credit

I don't think they're that good, sue me.

Meanwhile all y'all slobbering over Danny Green like he isn't washed up already. Like I'll give Kawhi the BOTD that he'll come back and be an All Star off his injury (like yall should with Hayward as well) but Toronto lost size with Poeltl gone. I personally thing OG Anunoby is overrated on this site -- he's a good defender but he's hardly a scorer, and he's not All-Defensive Team level yet either. Good young player, but not someone with direct immediate impact

Ibaka is getting old as shit (he's probably older than what NBA.com says tbh), I've never liked JV in an offense that wasnt focused on getting him the ball... he'll be better off the bench in more of a scoring role.

And yall know I like FVV a lot... I actually think he's the 3rd best player on the Raptors tbh.. but thats the problem in itself. You cant expect to beat Boston 2v5...

I just cant see them being bad if Kawhi is back to his old self

And im sure he’ll go off. He has a lot to prove this year

The east being wide open is just motivating him

Not having Poeltl isnt the end of the world tho lol. Hes replacable

And seriously put some respect on Danny Green

You’re also forgetting that siakam OG and FVV will improve even more

But prediction real quick brosox

How many wins will they have? And in how many games you think Boston would beat this Raptors team in a series?

Doncic favorited heavily as ROY, ayton second

not sure about that one

Hes either gonna go off right away bc hes that talented or gonna need time to adjust to the nba game. Euroleague game is so different

There were 53 players last year that took 2.5 or more catch-and-shoot 3PA and played 60+ games on the year. Danny Green was 44th in 3P%.

Again I like Fred... OG and Siakam are nice role players but you will lose games if youre relying on them to WIN you games. Like can OG put up 25 points if Lowry is off and the opposition doubles Kawhi? Not likely.

I'd probably say 49-52 wins for Toronto. We could sweep them, but it'd probably be 5 or 6 games more realistically
