I do wonder how much teams take future finances into account when they're in a position like this.
 
The Browns are likely going to have to pay Garrett $100+ million in a few years.  They also just took who they hope to be their franchise QB at #1, so he's obviously going to get paid if he pans out in a few years.  QB and pass rusher are the two premium positions in the NFL.  Maybe Cleveland realized they wouldn't be able to give either Chubb or Garrett a second contract if all three of these guys are hits.
