The NBA competitiveness issues are a direct result of Kevin Durant joining the NBA. I don't know how yall are blind to that.

The Western finals going 7 doesn't make it a good competitive series. That series was full of blowouts. Average margin of 17 points per game. That's not competitive. Even game 7, Golden State ties that game up with 4 and a half minutes left in the 3rd and it was never in question after that. Was never less than a 3 possession game at any point in the 4th either. Lets not even waste our time how we knew the entire season that GS/HOU were meeting up in the WCF, and at no point was that ever at risk of not happening.

Kevin Durant joining the Warriors has nothing to do with the other teams in the league sucking. That is the problem, not the Warriors and not Durant. How many actual contenders are there every year? Not many. The last time an unexpected team won the Finals was with the Mavericks. The league has always been dominated by a few superstars. These superteams make it even worse, but Kevin Durant and the Warriors didn't start that.

If you want to go that far you can draw the current lack of competitiveness to when David Stern signed the last TV deals that allowed for a jump in the salary cap

told you

Ky in NY becomes a god like Steph in Oakland or AI in Philly

It's no wonder he put the Knicks on his list instead of wanting to compete for a title in Cleveland

The only reason i could see it happening now, is because of what the Celtics did in the playoffs without him

We could agree the celtics woulda went to the finals with Kyrie

Staying makes all the sense then, but now this situation is pretty unique
