Man, this Milwaukee team is just underwhelming. Even Giannis is underwhelming. Yeah, he'll posterize the shit out of somebody one quarter, then miss 5 layups/bunnies the next. It's like watching a supremely talented golfer continually miss qualifying for the PGA because of shitty mechanics and recklessness. The guy is absolutely not a superstar in this league, period. Fun to watch? Sure. Young with plenty of time to develop? Undoubtedly. A superstar right now? Hell no..
You didnt watch the whole series then. Giannis was killing it until Boston took a 7min bench piece and started him because he might be the strongest wing in the entire league. Semis job was literally just to guard Giannis, and while the Freak is incredibly strong, Ojeleye is definitely stronger

You cant overpower Semi unless youre committing an offensive foul. It was a great gameplan by Stevens to say hes gonna try to limit Giannis and just play 4v5 on offense

The funny thing is I dont even think Semi is that good of a defender. Just insanely strong.

He's situationally a good defender.

Isn't great at contesting shots, and doesn't have the quickest feet for lateral movement. He can't really guard centers or switch out onto guards because he'll get blown by.

But he's a very smart player who understands positioning, and that coupled with his strength is why he's a good defender. He'll know where the offensive player needs to go, and put himself in that path. Essentially force the offensive guy to take a tough off-balanced shot, evade right into the help defense, or try to go through Semi.

Doesnt get his arms up to contest, too slow, cant actually guard a position, but good defender when all is said and done imo

Like put him on Harden, Durant, DeRozan, Butler, PG, etc and he'll not be super effective. He needs to play against the guys whose mantra is essentially overpowering you with contact, like Giannis, Simmons, potentially LeBron

I don't give a fuck about his defense, that dude is yolked.

Where does he rank on the most jacked NBA player power rankings?

He's gotta be somewhere between Westbrook and Corey Maggette

Ben Wallace is definitely ahead of all of them.

Hmm... You know what?  Fuck the playoffs.

Let's do a "most shredded" NBA Mt. Rushmore.

He's a brick wall. You can evade a brick wall, but you can't go through it.
