2018 MLB Season Thread

I wish Morales would have shown some of this when the Twins had him a few years back.  He is a very good hitter that definitely needs continual work.  He can lose his swing in a couple of days and take a week to get it back.  Right now, he looks as locked in as I have ever seen someone.

It's good because he's basically useless if he doesn't hit well. Maybe Toronto can get dump his contract in the offseason or even this season.

Hes always had flashes of good and long awful droughts. He needs a guy like JD Martinez who will be in his ear and help coach him during batting practice. I read hes been working with Mookie on his consistency. That combined with the dramatic change of game planning that Cora brings compared to what the Sox were used to doing for years has improved even the best of our players to be even better.

Swinging at more (good) first pitches, not letting pitchers get ahead. Leading to less Ks, less BBs too but the ratio has improved. Its pretty nuts to see how adding him and Cora has improved almost the entire club.

Now if only we could get our pitching staff on the right track... I think we should see more of Leon to get guys in a groove down the stretch. Hes been called the pitchers whisperer by a handful of our guys.

It's frustrating knowing how good our offense is, and how good our pitching can be, and see results like these. I understand it's a 162 game season, but it's a bit worrisome for how far we may make it in the post season - no matter how many W's we pile up in the regular season.

This is the first bad stretch theyve had all season. Its as though Red Sox fans think this team should win 130 games. Theyve overachieved all year
