With the sky falling so rapidly Id think you would want any win you could get?

Winning on an error and coming back against the Marlins isnt sustainable.

Its a bullpen issue and DDs inability to upgrade at the deadline.

Be mad at the losses for sure, but being mad at the wins is dumb

I also thought it was funny that some people started the "Yankees are charging" narrative in the media. No, they just played the Orioles in a four-game series lol

Its completely rational to be mad at a win when there are underlying issues. You dont win that game 9/10 times.

Im literally not the only one annoyed.

But if you don't see the issues with this pen, well I hope you enjoy another ALDS exit. There's no way it holds up against the Yankees, Astros, Athletics or Indians in October unless the bats are really swinging. Sale and Price don't get to pitch every night. Let's break it down:

- Kimbrel: He's been ice cold for a month now and is walking more than 4 per 9. Like I've said, he struggles when coming into a high leverage situations or with getting 3+ outs. I don't care if last night was one showing, against a team like Miami, you can't blow a save. He's been hit hard and has no command with diminished velocity.
- Barnes: He's had a good season but has been cold the last month. Seems like he always finds a way to work himself into messes.
- Hembree: Dude serves batting practice. Nothing more needs to be said.
- Braiser: Sure he's had a great stretch, but are you really going to place reliance on a guy in late innings who has thrown 29 career innings?
- Kelly: You never know what you're going to get.
- Pomeranz: LOL
- Workman: Glorified mid inning reliever.

So unless this pen picks up fire in October or the bats are giving you 7 to 8 runs a game, I really don't see how advancing past the ALDS or ALCS is even possible. Completely kills one of two years remaining with our window since Bogaerts, Sale and JBJ gone after next season.

At $4.5M its a huge risk too.

Id assume Jays would have to take about equal money back.

Gibby even said himself he did not think the injury would be this long. Id assume something happened.

I really hope you don't expect Bogaerts and Sale to be gone after next season. We should find a way to lock up the B's, and we absolutely must find a way to keep Sale. If letting Kimbrell go is the way, then that's how I'd do it.

Giving up what we did for Kimbrell I expect him to pay him what he wants to keep him. Otherwise, we'll end up dealing another top 5 prospect for an aging closer next year.

Sale wont be gone, but I could totally see Bogie walking... hes a Boras client and will be an expensive SS to keep on the open market

I dont even know if we have what it takes to get a closer via a trade. Members of our top 5 fall outside a lot of teams top 10

Depends if Henry wants to commit money again to a 30 year old pitcher again. The Price fiasco has been a shit show.
