Its always easy to overreact to one series. I know that the Yankees have guys missing. But man, the Red Sox are just better. Theyll at least split this series with their ace on the DL. If Severino doesnt return to form, that team is in trouble.

We have Sale (who will win the CY Young contingent on an epic collapse), Bogaerts, Devers, and E-Rod (who has had a very good season) out. Plus we are being forced to play Holt and Nunez. Holt has a whopping one home run this year and Nunez is the worst fielding infielder I have seen on this time in my life time.

I cant call it a wash. Judge is far more valuable than anybody on that list in a series given youd only get one start from Sale. Like I said though I still think the Yankees are inferior.

E-Rod having a great season? That's debatable. Rodriguez is a guy with good stuff who hadn't completely put it all together just yet.

E-rod has been a very stable number four all year. If it wasnt for the injury, he would easily have ended up being three wins above replacement this year

he threw like 85 pitches on the game and retired the last 21 straight batters (HR in the 3rd)
 
he was one bad pitch away from a perfect game... didnt even walk anybody.

You could say what you want about injuries, but as far as I'm concerned, he's very injury prone. Every year injuries hurt him and just when he looks like he's about to put things together, he hits the DL.

I just need to see him become more economical consistently by getting through more innings. He should take some notes on Porcello for that because it's a huge thing Porcello knows how to do right.

Not to take anything away from my Red Sox, but I think we are playing way better than we normally would have coming into this season and I give Alex Cora a lot of credit.
