I just like to remind people of the Rockies, the forgotten NL West team. Especially Mexi.

Cursed
He's a .220 hitter. I expect the average to rise, but he's hitting .220. I agree he will be expensive, but it's ridiculous if you ask me.catman said:Harper will be expensive, even for a 2 month rental. The Nationals are going to want a pitcher or 2 and an infielder.
Orioles aren't cursed, they're just not very good. Even on the years they won the division recently it was because of homerun hitters and a lot of luck. They won a lot of games with a negative run differential.CameronCrazy06 said:Speaking of curses
My roommate and I always joke about how the orioles are cursed for not pitching Zach Britton in that playoff game hahaha
stop looking at batting average, it's not even a useful stat anymorePWNdroia said:He's a .220 hitter. I expect the average to rise, but he's hitting .220. I agree he will be expensive, but it's ridiculous if you ask me.
.4 WAR this year. That's less than Jackie Bradley's 1.2 WAR and Bradley's hitting .214. Yeah Harper's real good this year. Let's bust our farm trying to get a player who wins us less than a game.elcheato said:stop looking at batting average, it's not even a useful stat anymore
They were consistently a good team from 2012-2016. 2017 the wheels fell off in September. 2018 nobody expected them to be THIS bad. It was supposed to be one final playoff push before most of the core departed. You dont make the playoffs out of the toughest division in baseball 3 out of 5 years based on luck. Hell they won the division by 12 games in 2014.PWNdroia said:Orioles aren't cursed, they're just not very good. They were a decent team but I believe luck was involved. Even at their best, however, they didn't have an edge to put them over. Like the A's they had a lot of low average hitting guys who raked homeruns. That hitting strategy is limited when playing tough teams.CameronCrazy06 said:They were consistently a good team from 2012-2016. 2017 the wheels fell off in September. 2018 nobody expected them to be THIS bad.
