Over the past two seasons, there have been 1365 games where a player scores 30+ points. Only 364 of those games were with the players shooting less than 20 FGAs, meaning over 73% of the time a player scores 30 points, they took 20+ shots.
 
How is he expected to have a lot of 30 point games when he doesn't have the opportunity to?

And obviously that's not to say he can't score 30 while shooting less than 20 times. But only 3.5% of the games where someone scored 30 points in that time span had the player take 12 or less FTAs (Tatum's career high) and less than 20 shots.
