No why the hell would they do that?

kemba's gone in 5 weeks from now, and the hornets are not in a good state right now. if they got rid of every non-guaranteed contract on that team, they would have about $10.2M in cap space to replace Kemba's volume, or some of it.
 
Hornets need to full out tank again. It was really only in Kemba's rookie year did they get a top pick recently, and MKG was a bust. 
Why not take a risk on Hayward to see if he can become an All Star again? If he sucks, you suck and you'll get a good pick.
Will you find a FA at $10M that can be as good as Gordon Hayward can be? I don't personally think so.
 
When your cap is that fucked for next year as it is, saving money doesn't mean as much.
