Knowing what we know now, I'm sure they would say the same, but nobody saw Waiters turning his career around this year.

Also Oladipo was acquired to be a complementary piece to KD and Russell; he's being forced to have a bigger role than he should based on circumstance.

I'm not interested in the logic, I'm only interested in my retroactively spicy takes.

If there's one thing I've learned over the years as a Bulls fan, it's that winning game one means the series is pretty much in the bag.

Nah, Brown has some talent.  It's just hard to build any confidence as a raw youngster while on such a short leash.

It's a shame for Boston that their bigs are so soft.   A Thomas/Bradley/Brown/Crowder lineup could be pretty interesting if they had anyone that could bang.
jaylens ball handling is fairly rookie-esque, turning it over when he would try to go too fast

he's a decent shooter and a solid defender laterally against quicker guards, and shows oodles of potential, but he's still solidly raw atm

problem with our bigs is that Stevens looks for guys who can spread for 3pt looks. That way, you run the P&P and let Isaiah get to the hoop. Defense collapses, and he kicks a three look that's usually not too contested. Problem is with that if we don't make the shot, we have no rebounding because our big is on the 3pt line. It's why Boston always plays close games -- our shooters will miss a ton of shots because they aren't star shooters, and we get killed on the board.

And for allowing offensive boards, Horford is acting as a low zone cover for help defense, with rebounding not the priority. So it's usually a free-for-all for allowing boards

TLDR -- it's more about Stevens's system than the players themselves for the rebounding issue

Sure, but stretch bigs typically aren't very good rebounders regardless, so it's a mixture.

and Amir Johnson kind of blows.

Dion is a catch-22

He didnt work with established big dogs. As established as you can get too. Kd russ kyrie and lebron

So he goes to a team where he can literally be the man and played very well

But is he worth paying a lot? Even though he works in miami i just dont know

He has to be the guy but is he good enough to invest in as the guy?

Miami are gonna go through the same things with Dion as the they did with Wade. He's gonna want a big contract but the Heat are not gonna start negotiating until they strike out on bigger FA's. Which is probably going to lead to Waiters accepting a deal somewhere else because he won't wanna wait.
