I'm not buying into Minnesota. That team was abysmal defensively last year and they really haven't gotten better.

GS is in a class of their own, followed by SA, HOU, and OKC. Then you just have a whole blob of teams. Like 7 teams competing for seeds 5-8. NO, MIN, DEN, LAC, UTA, MEM, and POR.

so apparently thats whats being reported to spotrac, that its through the DPVE, and i did look it up and apparently it does extend to players traded on their rookie deals

but im not sure it even applies to harden still. the extension voided out his player option and thats when the extension begins, but hed hit 10+ years before it kicks in, which means hes making exactly the same amount of money

only difference is by agreeing to the extension now hes guaranteed 4 years, where as he could wait two years and opt out, and re-sign on a 5 year deal but its not guaranteed to be a max (even though it almost definitely would)

its all about 3-4 year deals on your 3rd contract. that way you can maximize your earnings by reentering FA (like Hayward is doing, and what George will be doing next year)

Id argue that. Adding Jimmy And Taj helps them tremendously on the defensive side
