This is Nike's first year as the jersey supplier. They just removed the traditional titles for the names of the jerseys for their own.
 
• "Association Edition" jerseys -- this will be what you normally wear at home (aka white plus Lakers yellow)
• "Icon Edition" jerseys -- this is the primary colored jersey that you mostly wear on the road
• "Inspired by the Community" jerseys -- this is like the pride jerseys, like the RIP CITY Blazers jerseys or the St.Patricks Day Celtics jerseys
• "Athlete's Mindset" jerseys -- Alternate jerseys, like what the orange OKC jersey was (they're reportedly removing that though)
 
Plus 8 teams will have throwback jerseys too, likely Sacramento, Denver, and more
 
I don't get the outcry. Not much has changed here, except teams only have four jerseys as of right now (which outside of like Cleveland and Miami, that was the norm). It just appears that teams can go color-v-color on matchups (ie Rockets in red versus Spurs in black), which has been permitted for years now, just not done outside of Christmas time
