its like you started following basketball in 2014 smfh

"The Decision" was just as bad as KD going to the Warriors, except Golden State didn't choke like Miami did versus Dallas. The reason the Heat struggled in the final two years with Lebron was because Wade and Bosh couldn't stay healthy, and for a team built around 3 guys and minimum contracts it was Lebron versus the Spurs. But the first two years he was in Miami, the Heat were thought of very similarly to how the Dubs are now

Lebron left bc cavs didnt get him any help whatsoever over so many years and he had enough, and he didnt jump on a wagon, he didnt join your celtics with an already established fucking big 3. he created a team with his buddies. Heat were bad the year before

KD left a real contender, who were 3 minutes away from the finals to join the same team who just embaraased them coming back from being down 3-1

Joined a fucking 73-9 core with an mvp on it and 2 other hall of famers.

Straight snaked OKC. Lebron left a team that wasnt doing anything to help him, KD had all the help in the world

Sure the decision on tv was ugly but thats irrelevant to the big picture

Stop baiting me into these convos, i dont wanna talk about snakes

KD left because the only teammate he had who was good, he clashed with how he wanted to play, and after so many years he had enough. Lets not act like you didn't just say this entire season that westbrook wasn't carrying the entire team through the playoffs. KD also joined his buddies in Draymond and Iguodala

Lebron's last 3 years in cleveland were a Finals loss, a loss in the ECF, and a loss to a team who had a 26 point lead in game 7 of the Finals (RIP me)

He joined a team with two hall of famers, whom were coming off a 27/7/5 and 24/11 season, and were the undisputed favorites to win every year ("not 3, not 4, not 5" didn't even sound overly outlandish at the time)

KD had Westbrook and that's it. They snaked him by trading away Harden (who he was really close with) for scraps so they maybe wouldn't hit a luxury tax for one season. and again, you literally complained all season how your brodie carried this team and they were nothing without him.

Like I seriously don't think you remember The Decision correctly. Lebron was fucking hated for a good time (basically started the jersey burning ritual) and had such a bad rep in cleveland until he returned. IMO The Decision was worse of an outcome for basketball than KD to the Warriors was, but your closed mind won't overturn that thought unfortunately

The current Warriors have better top end talent and depth than any of those Heat teams did though. Until they won in 2012, the idea of those Heat teams was always scarier than the reality. They always seemed invincible, but they really weren't. 2013 was the only year they got the #1 seed and they trailed in a bunch of playoff series.

I heard about the Jackson thing a few days ago. From the way I understood it the Pels floated Asik, Pistons said "nah," and that's how Ajinca got into the conversation. I wouldn't love Jackson, but the Pels really want another guard to pair with Jrue and they think another PnR threat would be huge.

I'm a Bron fan, I don't hide that or act like I root for another team. I root for players over teams, partly because I don't have a local team (or any team close) and also because I don't like rooting for an organization and how people tend to act towards the players when they do.

Fucking how? Did KD embarrass his hometown on national television?
Let's be honest though. The Decision is/was far more entertaining than any of these other free agent announcements

You aren't wrong at all. I don't think anyone's arguing against the fact that the heat underachieved (although I'm sure mexi will claim they overachieved)

KD has become one of my favorites..

Purely from the hate he receives from people that never have or ever will get to know him.. and how he has handled it.

Wild.

What KD did was way weaker. Think back to what PG just said, If they made the conference finals it would be dumb for him to want to leave. Not only that, but KD went to the Warriors. If he went to the Wizards or literally anywhere else, nobody would really care.

Lebron did it first so it was more shocking. Leaving his hometown on national TV and letting the Cavs find out on ESPN was pretty savage, but at least he didn't walk to the Cetlics.

NBA needs true rivalries again
