Why? Because he didn't choose your team?
I honestly don’t care he didn’t select the Yanks. The Yanks haven’t had any luck outside of Matsui with Japanese players. But this guy’s selection process was a bunch of crap. He wants to be big time but didn’t want to be in a big market. There was then talk he wanted to be the superstar. The smoke clears and he signs with the team that is just outside LA and already has the best player in baseball on their roster!?

Idk man, a lot of that was rumor. We don't really know exactly how he felt.

He coulda waited 2 more years and gotten +$200M but he didnt. Came over for nothing, didnt choose a team based on signing bonus, didnt choose an easy contender like NYY, Dodgers or the Cubs.

Angels with Trout and Upton certainly aren’t slouches. I wish him the best only because I’d love to see more 2 way players. Hunter Greene is coming up and he has the potential to be a monster on the mound and at the plate. I’m curious to see how fantasy sports hosts will handle Ohtani.

that is an interesting question indeed...

Gregerson signed with the Cards today for 2 years/11 million. I wish him the best. He gave us 3 good years.

Rumors are the Astros are still interested in Justin Wilson of the Tigers....

The Red Sox are advising rival organizations that they’ll consider dealing away center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr., according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today (via Twitter). That stance, he notes, is tied to the team’s efforts to add a power bat — presumably, one that would occupy a corner outfield spot and bump Andrew Benintendi into center.

Per MLBTR.

So sounds like JBJ is available. If its in some sort of deal for Schwarber, I'm gonna be pissed.

JBJ should be made available. He's can straight fire torpedoes from deep center but he very little else to the lineup.  Given how well Benny & Mookie are defensively, I'd value Schwarber's offense (and a couple years younger) over JBJ's defense.

If I'm Dombrowski, I'd look to make that JBJ for Schwarber deal and start negotiating with JD Martinez and Carlos Santana. Martinez may be super expensive but I think Santana can end up somewhat of a bargain.

FIP and walk #'s show that he was a tad unlucky in Chicago. The talent is there. Brett Strom, pitching coach, has worked wonders with relievers in the past.

I'm assuming he'll appear on your roster as both a pitcher and hitter, and only taking up 1 roster spot.

Except that Schwarber is nothing special and is pretty much homerun or bust.

Schwarber isnt good at all. Plus, he cant play the outfield at all. Only way hed even fit is if they shed their current DH (Hanley).

12/11:Jon Heyman Of FanRag Sports reports that the Yankees have shown interest in Pirates starting pitcher Gerrit Cole. Cole was once drafted in the first round by the Yankees out of high school but chose not to sign. Cole grew up a Yankees fan as well. The Pirates are not showing any impression that they are willing to deal Cole, but it would be an intriguing match as the Yankees have a very strong farm system.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller

As it stands in most leagues, pitchers offense stats dont count. They system will have to be dramatically altered if Ohtani pulls this off. I personally do t think he tries the hitting for longer than this season tho. Hell try and then find out why nobody else at the big league level is playing 2-way ball.

Schwarber is young and has a lot of pop. He needs to be a DH and not have to worry about playing the field. I have little doubt Schwarber as a hitting specialist will rage in Boston.
