hes not marcus smart bad because giannis is smart enough to not physically shoot the ball. hes a really rough shooter
Giannis has unreal athleticism and quickness to get to the rim with ease so thats why he doesnt fire away. Its not being smarter than Smart, its just having a gift that Smart doesnt have, so Marcus settles alot more, which is understandable

Smart is sucha great glue guy tho, he just needs to not shoot so much. Should take a page out of Robersons book and just play insane defense all game and do the dirty work while taking one or maaaybe two 3s a game. Him taking 5 so far is ridiculous. He’s the guy you want on your contender tho if you have enough scorers around him

5 game

like im trying to not overreact but we havent lost since brad had time to organize a new offensive set without hayward. thats why i dont care too much about the first giannis game, because we were trying to figure out what to do with no gordon in the offense and the opposition trapping kyrie

thats when we realized to just run kyrie/al p&p and it works like a charm
Oh yea, those first two games dont matter for sure. Adjustment time without Hayward. Also Kyrie seems like he’s started to feel it the last 2-3 games and has gotten real comfortable

Should be a good game friday tho

the more tough defense he plays, the less reliable he is on offense and that'll hurt the team more. he just needs to be smarter on offense

its interesting too because you could argue that jaylen and jayson are young pg13 and young melo in the way they play

I dont think he should even be an option on offense, should just focus on defense completely. I get that Hayward is out now but once he’s back, Marcus needs to know his role. Just be a dog on the defensive side, be a slasher and get passes from Al/Kyrie around the rim, make smart decisions, move the ball, try to rebound the ball, and thats enough on that side. Roberson plays his role so well, Marcus needs to watch him but i think in his head he feels like he can still become a good scorer in this league and thats the problem

Lol i actually see that for sure, except i think Tatum will become a better defender than Melo ever was

Even tho lowkey Melo has been doing really solid at the 4 spot so far, but talking about his younger days/prime.

tatums a good defender. hes better on defense than offense right now in his young career

and i think youre misvaluing marcus on offense a tad. hes not a good shooter and we all know that, but hes far more valuable there than roberson is. he can post well but more importantly hes a very good passer within the p&r and has tremendous vision. he does take too many perimeter shots but he shouldnt be avoided like roberson

You’re right he can definitely bully smaller guys in the post, cant remember who he was eating downlow a week or so ago but he went at him like 3 straight times and scored

He’s for sure more valuable than Roberson on the offensive side, just think he needs to try to score less. If its a mismatch downlow, i get it go for it but thats all id want from him on that end if the rest of 4 guys are good enough scorers. I get that Haywards out tho so he probably feels like he needs to step up
