I always liked him, but I also wanted to see him get more minutes and get a better idea of what he has to offer.

Potentially with Charlotte

Clippers with a very smart move i gotta say

They’re trying to make the playoffs so why not keep lou, give him one of the best contracts in the league, and raise his value that way since hes locked up for 3 years on a steal deal. Well done, they’ll get more for him in 6 months than they would have now

i wouldnt say its a steal deal. the market is going to come back down and all that spending caught up to teams. but going forward is when it'll be worth more as a tradeable asset. good move for them.

3/24 isnt a steal to you?

2 years with the 3rd being a team option and not even a player option? Steal in my books

its what he would have gotten before the cap exploded. it leveled out and teams arent going to be spending big like the last two years

Ok and he got the same deal after the cap exploded so its a steal

8M a year for two years and a team option is absolutely a steal in todays day and age for a borderline all star.

- Bill Simmons Draft Diary (RIP Grantland): Our no. 1 pick? Yup … Kyrie Irving. You know, because any time you can grab a freshman point guard who missed two-thirds of the season when you have $20 million of point guards on your roster, you have to do it. We’ll see how this goes: I see him settling somewhere between an extremely poor man’s Chris Paul and a rich man’s Mike Conley. Will he ever make an All-Star team? It’s possible … maybe one or two. One thing I don’t understand: Why does everyone keep saying this month that you “need” a good point guard to win? Didn’t anyone watch Jason Kidd and Mario Chalmers just battle in the Finals? You need good players to win. I believe Derrick Williams will be a more effective professional basketball player than Kyrie Irving. We will see.
